Fence Company in Fultondale, AL

Birmingham Fence Pros is a fence company working in Fultondale, a northern Birmingham suburb about 8 miles from downtown along I-65 and U.S. 31. Fultondale had 9,876 residents at the 2020 census.

From Mining Town to Growing Suburb

Fultondale began as a mining town known as Fulton Springs, and its name combines Fulton Springs and Glendale. It incorporated in 1947. Before I-65, U.S. 31 was the main road from Birmingham to Nashville, and stretches of the old route survive as Stouts Road. Since the early 2000s, new subdivisions such as Chapel Hills, Black Creek Station, Town Square, and Fulton Springs have filled in west of I-65 and along U.S. 31.

Ridges and Old Mining Ground

Fultondale sits on one of the ridgelines at the southern end of the Appalachian chain, and the area was heavily mined for coal and other minerals over the past century. For a fence, that can mean:

• Sloped lots where a fence has to step down the hill
• Rocky ground that slows post-hole digging
• Fill soil in some areas, where posts need extra depth to stay firm

After the 2021 Tornado

On January 25, 2021, an EF3 tornado hit Fultondale and damaged or destroyed many homes, vehicles, and businesses. Storms like that are why we care about how a fence is anchored. We set posts deep, space them properly for the fence height, and use sturdy rails so a fence has the best chance of riding out high winds. When storms do take fences down, our fence repair work covers leaning posts, snapped boards, and sections that need full replacement.

Popular Fences in Fultondale's Newer Subdivisions

• Six-foot wood or vinyl fences for privacy
• Black aluminum for front yards and pools
• Matching gates on both sides of the house

Many newer neighborhoods have HOA rules on material and color, so we check them before we build.

Permits

Fultondale is its own city, so fence permits and height limits come from the City of Fultondale. We confirm the rules for your address and call 811 before digging.
